The pay is bad but the hours are long!

bullet

No lacrosse experience needed/required.

bullet

If you are new to lacrosse and/or coaching you will be paired with an experienced coach.

bullet

All you need is a great attitude towards kids and a few hours a week.

bullet

Save 50% on PYL registration fees for your child.

bullet

Coaches should try to make every practice, but if your schedule prevents that we can work around it. Do not shy away if you have to miss one night a week!

bullet

Season runs from mid-April to about mid June.

bullet

Boys programs practice M/W/F evenings, around 6pm to 7:30pm. We ask the boys to make two of the three per week.

bullet

Girls programs practice T/TH evenings, around 6pm to 7:30pm.

bullet

"Game day" coaching is very simple, especially at the younger ages (sometimes there is little strategy beyond trying to complete a pass!).

bullet

Games are scheduled via the Rochester Area Lacrosse League site.

bullet

Recommended book: "Coaching Youth Lacrosse", ISBN 0736037942.

Coaches Credo:
One hundred years from now
It will not matter
What kind of car I drove,
What kind of house I lived in,
How much money I had in my bank account,
Nor what my clothes looked like.

But one hundred years from now
The world may be a little better
Because I was important
In the life of a child.

What does the #19 signify in the Penfield Lacrosse logo?
The #19 is used in the memory of Todd Bernhardt, a lacrosse player from Penfield who lost his life at too young an age.
