Penfield Youth Lacrosse is a non-profit organization.
-
Much of our yearly income from registration fees is spent on
providing equipment for our participants to borrow.
-
Over the years, equipment
slowly "disappears" ...
-
As you can imagine, this puts a big dent in our budget!
Our current "state of affairs" with regard to
boys equipment
is that we are "turning over" older equipment and trying to purchase
newer equipment as we go along. Thus your child may be using older,
newer or a combination of equipment. Some will be sized perfectly, some
will be a tad large or a tad tight.
How can you help?

If you need to supply your
own equipment, where should you
shop?
-
PYL typically has discount
coupons for lacrosse gear
from Dick's Sporting Goods.
Please see your coach or
email us to get a coupon.
Dick's will custom order
helmets in the Penfield
color scheme (red shell,
black visor and black chin
guard). Models and pricing
will vary. Some helmet
models are "one size fits
all" and use a series of
inserts to adjust the fit.
If your son will be playing
for the foreseeable future,
these helmets can be a good
investment. As of March 2007
these coupons are available
in the Penfield Recreation
offices.

Lacrosse Unlimited has a
store in Pittsford and the
salespeople are
knowledgeable. Besides
carrying all types and
models of lacrosse
equipment, they also
typically stock the Penfield
helmet sticker set, which
usually runs about $15.

Nickel City Lacrosse runs a
store out of the All-Star
Sports Arena in Irondequoit.
Friendly and knowledgeable
sales staff and good
pricing.

Play It Again Sports usually
has used lacrosse equipment
in stock. Inventory varies.
